Solar Potential Analysis Heidelberg (district e.g. Neuenheim)

Idea

Our idea is to calculate the solar potential of building rooftops in Heidelberg to find the areas with the most potential for photovoltaic panels.

Method/Implementation

We would like to perform our analysis in the QGIS Model Builder. The first step would be to preprocess the collected data and to then calculate the solar irradiation. The last step would be to filter the areas with the highest potential for photovoltaic panels.

The FOSSGIS tools we would use for our analysis would be QGIS, GRASS GIS and GDAL.
